ReStocking Fee
Dermajuv Cosmeceuticals has a re-stocking fee that is charged for every bottle that is returned by a consumer for refund. While, many consumers see this as unfortunate, it is there for some very good reasons.
As you may be aware some of the common practices within the industry are to offer consumers “Free Trials” which allows the consumer to receive the product without being charged initially, or by paying only the shipping expense. This marketing ploy is very attractive as it appears that consumers would be getting the products for minimal cost, however what we all eventually find out is that the term “Free” is somewhat debatable. Whether it is automatic shipments or unexpected charges 14, 21, or 30 days into the treatment, consumers are inevitably charged in one way or the other.
Dermajuv Cosmecuetical’s product line is peptide based as you are probably aware, but what that means is that the products work based upon an accumulation of applications. This makes providing consumers a free sample useless because it would take more than a few days worth to realize the full benefits. So the most logical way to provide consumers the security they desire as well as enough product to achieve results would be by providing them a guarantee.
Unfortunately, some “bad” consumers purchase skin care products online WITH NO INTENTION OF PAYING. Their routine is to purchase, get the products and empty them out into their own containers, and then return the bottles for a refund immediately. They have NO CARE of whether or not the product works… they just know if they send back bottles, they can ask for a refund. What a shame that some consumers are so immoral. It may be hard for most of us to imagine, but it happens more than you would believe. Products are emptied bone dry and returned within days of receipt for refund, and it is rapidly becoming a problem industry wide. Due to the fact that the law does not allow us to “re-sell” returned products you can imagine how costly this can get for the organization on a global scale. This is how we came to a “Re-Stocking Fee.” Because we need to “re stock” new fresh bottles to make up for the ones sold.
Rather than passing this expense along to all consumers by raising prices or doing away with some of our affordable, multiple bottle promotions, we decided to take a different approach. As this problem is not the fault of all consumers and only a few, we figured we would address the problem directly, in the refund policy. We are sorry if this policy seems strict, but our mission has always been to deliver the highest quality skin care products to consumers at a price that they can afford, and we are not going to change that just because of a “few bad eggs.”
